Nightime tummy sleeping...

I'm wondering if any other mommy's out there have issues w/nighttime tummy sleeping and leaky diapers. Cam loves to sleep on his tummy now but we invariably end up with a baby woken up b/c he's soaking wet from his diaper leaking through. Any sugguestions? I'm thinking of trying Huggies Overnights, although we are typically Pampers folks, the Cruisers aren't doin' their job!

Call me Spike

For some reason today in daycare Cam's hair got wet, so one of his teacher's spiked it - and it stayed that way! I cracked up when I picked him up; my own little punk rocker.

Might be time for a haircut :)

And for Father's Day - walking!

Cam's newest trick is to pull himself to standing on anything he can grab on to. Its a bit scary; he's only just figured out forward gear for crawling, but he is working his way towards cruising. So our guess is that for Father's Day, he might actually freak us all out and take a step or two for daddy.

Walking?!?!?!!!!! SO. NOT. READY.

Childproofing tips, anyone??

Cam blowing raspberries to Charlie

Charlie has been such a sport with Cam; he's had almost as much fur pulled out as I've lost hair to Cam's two little fists. We caught Cam and Charlie on either side of the patio door; Charlie seems a tiny bit relived to have something in between them :) Know how Cam has been torturing Charlie, we can't blame him!

Doin' the Hokey Pokey

Cam on his way over to the patio door to "talk" to the dogs; in mid-journey, he has to stop, sit up, and turn himself around 360°, then continue on his way. Holding a toy the entire time :)

Cam doesn't do casual Fridays :)

Here is the Caminator all dressed for daycare; watch out - he's a ladykiller!! :)

Cousin Tyler's got a blog!

We are so excited to see our super-cool cousin Tyler is now on Blogspot!

Tyler's mom Chris is my absolute favourite, bestest, most awesome cousin; more of a sister than a cousin, really. Ty-Man and Chris (along w/daddy Mike) are all the way on the East coast in New Hampshire, and we can't wait to see the boys meet each other in the fall when our family comes to visit. I've been harbouring secret hopes they'll grow up to be as good friends as Chris and I are :)

Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging, Chris, Mike and Tyler!!

We're still alive over here!

Sorry for the lack of posting; Cam is still waking up for 1.5-2 hrs every night (random times anywhere from 12:30am to 5:30am) and we're all kinda tired.

After we had a pretty rough weekend on the sleep front, on Monday morning I went to tuck his hair behind his ear and he went BONKERS crying. Took me 5 full mins to calm the poor kid down. Went to the Doc that A.M. and are back on antibiotics - another double ear infection. Not that we're thrilled about that BUT the good news is that 1) no Amoxicillin - Doc didn't think it was the right time to test our theory that Cam is allergic, and 2) the dosage is half the strength that the last bottle was, meaning the infection isn't as severe, we caught it early.

He's been on the antibiotics for about 3 days now, and is in much better spirits, although his appetite isn't quite normal yet; down to about 4-6oz solid food for lunch and dinner (this past weekend he was averaging 10-13oz for lunch and dinner). He's back to his typical self; crawling everywhere, in love with the dog's water dish and power cords (sigh) and blowing raspberries on any bare skin he can find: me, K, himself - any port in a storm! With the long weekend coming, we'll have plenty of opportunity to rest, get some new photos and video and maybe even go to a BBQ! Have a great holiday weekend, everyone!!

Love to all,
M + K = C

Monyeen Black has a new website design

This past Christmas we had a wonderful photographer, Monyeen Black, take some photos of Cam while he was little (who knew how short of a time that would be!!!!!) and she did a SUPERB job. She was incredibly cool, did great work, and she was fantastic with Cam - what more can you ask?!

She's updated her website design and the Caminator is now the first baby that you see in her Gallery navigation!! What an honor! Go to her website on the right, click on the "Site", then click on "Galleries" and you'll see Cam-a-lam-a-ding-dong, in all his spectacular baldness, right there :) We're very proud, and can't wait to have Mo over again to get some GOOD photos of Cam. Recently he sees the camera and starts to scowl; once we've figured out how to get the smiles again, we're going to call her.

If you live in the Bay area, she's a commuter like me and loves to do shoots up there. She's very flexible and her prices are extremely reasonable too. If you need a great family shot, or know a high school senior or someone with a new baby, give her a call - you'll be glad you did. :-)

Diapers.com - eh

Sorta over Diapers.com; they removed their 5% rebate and are now hawking all kinds of crap on there, sending a lot of spam emails trying to entice us to buy said crap. They still do have shipping for free over $50 and their diaper prices are ok, but if Target has a sale, you can get the same price. So I'm removing them from our Fave Links on the right.

BTW - Amazon.com doesn't offer free shipping on diapers any more either! Guess everyone decided it was too helpful to busy families on a budget :( Boo hiss!

You grow when you laugh, right??

Cam must have grown at least an inch after this session of giggles on the changing table :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Today was my first Mother's Day as a mom - I didn't count it last year when Cam was still baking :) It was a GREAT day; full of surprises (a lovely necklace with two hearts that has my and Cam's birthstones intertwined from K: love you, sweetie!) and firsts, like Cam figuring out how to crawl forward, which was amazing to behold. Of course, once Cam figured that out, the dogs were his first targets :) See video below.

To all the moms' we know and love, and to all the other moms' out in the world - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

The incentive Cam really needed...

Turns out mommy and daddy weren't what he *really* wanted when he was figuring out how to crawl forward...

What's yours is mine

Big surprise; as soon as Cam figures out how to crawl forward, he starts torturing the dogs :) He decided it was the funniest thing ever to take away one of Charlie's chew toys - luckily Charlie is a champ about it. Until he steals it back, of course! This went on for a good 15 minutes but we won't bore anyone with all of it; just a minute :)

Let's get physical...

Cam is sooooooooo strong that he can do one-armed chinups while chewing on a tube of toothpaste :)

Cam and Uncle Steve bonding

With a burpie, of course!

And glowing devil-eyes :)

Trip to Atascadero Zoo

We went to the zoo in Atascadero today; not sure we'll go ever again as it was pretty sad, from a habitat perspective. Those poor animals! The folks there sure are trying hard but....it was sad.

The kids, on the other hand, had lots of fun. Isley got a chance to do something more fun than wait for Cam to wake up from a nap :)

Side note: this was the longest trip Cam has taken in the new carseat and he did AWESOME. Fell asleep on the way home and didn't even wake up when we took him out of the car :)

Cousins

Despite the gale force winds blowing through Paso Robles, we got the kids outside to have a quick photoshoot of the cousins.

Cousin Isley and Auntie Trina come to visit!

Cam's Auntie Trina and cousin Isley came to visit this weekend from Vermont - we're so excited they made the trip! Cam immediately fell in love with Isley (and she with him) and the two of them spent the next 3 days making faces at each other. Isley totally cracked Cam up, it was a wonder to behold.

He also loved grabbing their noses and lips (a new thing), doing so at every opportunity. :) Luckily they were game for it and he didn't pull too hard!
