All your hard work paid off: Cam now has a new parlour trick - animal noises :)

Goofball at dinner

Cam's learning to make the "Home Alone" face - that's what daddy taught him over Memorial Day weekend :)

He thinks he's pretty funny. (this refers to both of them)

Boogie down, young man :)

Cam has learned when we get the video camera out that he can see himself on it. So once he sees the camera, he stops what he's doing (which is what we're filming, lol) and runs over to see himself in the monitor. While very cute, it makes it hard to catch those special moments, like him boogieing down while watching himself dance in the
reflection of the tv. :)

Ready...set...go! (non-cheaters version)

When we picked up Cam from daycare today, he was playing a new game with a couple of other little kids in the room: all the kids stood on one side of the room touching the wall until Cam yelled "Go!" then they all ran as fast as their little legs would carry them to the other side. Too freakin' cute! Here Daddy and Cam are reenacting it for the camera :)

Ready...set...go! (cheaters version)

This is the companion video to the previous version. The only difference is Cam doesn't make it to the "go" part :)

Happy outside kid!

We've had a bunch of rain this past week and finally got a clear afternoon, although it was overcast and cold, that didn't deter us from playing outside. Cam was *thrilled* to get to play in his beloved wagon, although it did require a bit of drying out :)

Hello. How cute am I?

Cam-a-lam-a-ding-dong hamming it up for the camera :)

A boy and his frog

We found this fantastic tent in the clearance isle at Target, believe it or not. Cam's in love with it :) Ever since we rearranged the house (moved my office back into the master, the large sectional couch from the living room into the family room) there is a lot more space for Cam's stuff. Which continues to somehow amass itself :) Of course, buying kiddie tents isn't exactly going with the theory less is more.

Cam loves hanging out in his tent and seems to like it best when all three of us are in there. Its a tight fit, but we make it work. Auntie Trina has sent a book for Cam's birthday showing all kinds of stories and rhymes that you can use your hands to tell (along the lines of "Isty Bisty Spider" which Cam loooooooves) and that's his favourite book to check out while he's hanging out in the tent.

Good thing we've got the room to have this thing up! :)

An elf cleaned up our house today

Cam has fallen in love with the dry mop and took it for a spin this morning. In his cute little PJs he looked like a little elf we had indentured to us :)

Only a matter of time before we'll have to pay him to do this!

15 months today!

Cam is 15 months old today - hard to believe! Well, actually not; in the few months since his birthday he's become a very active little boy :)

I've been lax on updates but here is a super quick rundown.

Cam got broncitis but was better by Thanksgiving. Then I got broncitis and lost my voice for more than a week (both K and Cam enjoyed that!). Thanksgiving was great! So nice to have 4 days off :) Holiday shopping is 95% done - phew! Cam is continuing to adjust to the new room at daycare but doing very well overall. Its dark at 5:30pm these days, so he doesn't get to play outside with the dogs as much as he used to but makes up for it on the weekends. We have a fun weekend coming up; K will be in Irvine for his company's holiday party, coming home on Saturday and we'll get our Christmas tree. Then on Sunday we're headed up to the Bay area to visit friends. Hope it doesn't rain so the kids can play outside!! Cam still isn't sleeping through the night but getting closer!

That's the short story - its not very interesting, hence the lack of posts recently. K shot this video this past weekend of Cam on the doggie bed - he's taken over one of Charlie's old beds that just got a new cover put on it...loves jumping on it!

More new shoes

We picked up a cute pair of Elmo slippers for Cam today at Target (but forgot the Nyquil mommy acutally went there for - darn!). He's totally fascinated with them. They are slowing down a little bit right now, but we figure that's temporary.

We also found the adorable froggie rainboots but sadly, the only size they had is too big for Cam - he needed help to walk b/c his feet slid so far out of them, lol. I'll try to exchange them up in the Bay area next week for a smaller size. We've gotten a fair amount of rain today, and will only be able to keep Cam inside for so long :) Maybe these will keep his feet and pants a bit drier.

Now to find a raincoat!

New (old) shoes

With the new room at daycare, Cam gets to spend more time outside playing and they asked that he get some actual shoes, not the leather slipper-like shoes he's been wearing since learning how to walk a few months back. Our doctor wants us to put off hard-soled shoes as long as possible, so we've been looking for some new shoes for Cam that had more sole than the Robeez but not as hard as most kids shoes.

My good friend Evelyn has a son about 6 months older than Cam and she gave us a pair of her son's outgrown shoes to try out - SeeKaiRun. We like them a lot - there is some sole but its very flexible - and Cam, of course, is in love with his feet now. He likes the noise he can make with them - like he was so quiet before, lol!!

ps
Aunt Lolly - Cam discovered the backpack you gave him at the baby shower a couple of months ago in his room and loves to carry it all over the house. He can't work the zipper yet, but when its open, he will put all kinds of different toys in it, bring them to another room and take them out. :) It was such a thoughtful gift; thank you!!

Big boy at the table

Cam seems to be growing so fast these days; every day he's accomplished something new. Today we were hanging out in the afternoon and Cam pointed up to the chair, so I sat him up in it. He loved it! Pretty soon we'll all be having dinner at the table together - Cam'll be in a booster seat though :)

ps
I've got to get a shot of his "monster" socks - he's got a pair of them on here and they are the cutest things ever! They've got these cute little toes on the end - adorable!!

pps
hopefully in this photo you can't see the big bruise he's got in the middle of his forehead from smacking his head on the table he has lunch at now at daycare - navigating sitting there is going to take a bit of practice :)

And the hair maintenance continues...

So it turns out that hair keeps growing after you cut it! :) Cam was starting to look like bozo again after naps, and that is apparently our cue to get his hair cut. Turns out the gal that gave Cam the buzz back in July got fired b/c that was the only way she could cut kids hair, lol. They did a great job this time! Still a cutie pie but that's pretty hard to mess up :)
ps
isn't the shirt adorable? Auntie Cyndi sent it for Cam's birthday.

...I was talking to the duck

Caught Cam in mid-laugh today - daddy was slapstick funny :)

Wheeeeee!

Cam is learning how to run/trot and loves to run around the house just making noise and reveling in his ability to do so. He's easily distracted though :)

ps
Aren't his jammies cute? They are a *bear* to get on and off, however, but the adorableness of them wins out time and time again...

How to sit on a stool

Last year our friends the Siripokes (Charles, Sarah, James and Grant) got Cam this amazing wooden stool that has his name spelled in these cool blocks that can come out of the chair for him to play with. He realized this week that he could move the stool around, and also turn it upside down and *presto*, Cam-sized seat for watching "BunnyTown" :) With George, of course.

Quack quack quack

Cam has fallen in love with this adorable book from Nanny Hines at our baby shower that shows pictures of animals and tells you the sounds he makes. When he hears the dogs barking in the neighbourhood (not OUR good dogs, lol), he points outside and says "oof oof". This weekend his favourite was "baa baa" for the sheep in the book. Completely doesn't go with the picture of him chewing on a duck but his smile was so cute, we had to post it :)

Caught!

....not doing anything bad, just surprised by the camera. Ever since we got the new camera, Cam is determined to not look at it, so he was caught off gaurd by Daddy when he was playing in his room this morning (C had gotten really quiet, which is usually reason for concern).

Ear tube surgery postponed

Just a quick note to let everyone know the ear tube surgery has been postponed to September 30. The ENT doc wanted Cam to be healthy and virus-free since this is elective surgery (yeah, right, only if he not in daycare for the next two weeks!!!) We have asked for the surgery to be sooner, as Cam seems to be getting ear infections every 5-7 weeks and that will put him right about getting another one, but they seem pretty firm on 9/30.

Cam is feeling much better than Tuesday and at daycare today for the first time since Monday. Fingers crossed he can get rid of this herpangina virus and get healthy so we can get his ears fixed!

ps
Cam had a GREAT day at daycare today; he slept 2hrs 20 mins total - way more than his usual 1hr 15-30 mins! We did give him a dose of Tylenol in his lunchtime bottle though, b/c of his sore throat....that might be why he slept so well. Eh, so what, he had a good day over there - yay!!
