"I'm off to daycare - bye! Did you remember my coffee thermos?" :)
Doesn't Cam look like he's got a briefcase (its his lunchbag) and is on his way to work? He's all "business casual", so he'll be in a creative field like mom ;)

Quick update
Very sorry for the lack of posts: we've had a little rough spot sleeping-wise over here and I'm behind in life in general. Got some great new photos and video; I'll get to it over this holiday weekend :)
Cam has been waking up earlier and earlier the last week or so; since last Thursday he's been waking up at 4am and not going back to sleep. Made daycare tough last week b/c they are migrating him to a new room with older kids and a very set routine - no morning nap and everyone goes down for naps from 12:30 until whenever they wake up. Cam waking up at 4am has made it very hard for him to get to 12:30 and take a decent nap.
On top of that he's had some nasal congestion and a little cough for the last couple of weeks. After this past weekend, I decided to bring Cam to the docter b/c I was sure he had an ear infection (yes, I know he has tubes but all his rolling around and messed up sleeping reminded me so much of them!). Luckily I was wrong, but the doctor did diagnose him with a bronchial/sinus infection and he's on antibiotics for the next 5 days. Hopefully this will help the little guy feel better and sleep more comfortably. Fingers crossed!!
ps
Cam got weighed at the doc's office and tipped the scales at 29.5lbs. No height measurement, but K and I unofficially put a tap measure to him over the weekend and he was 32.5" tall. Photos/videos soon!!

Crazy non-sleeping kick
Cam is going through a weird phase where he's not sleeping at daycare...on Tuesday, he slept for 35 mins for the 8 hours he was there. To say he was a wreck when he got home just before 5pm is an understatment, however, it took about 3 minutes to get him down for a nap. He slept for about an hour, then went to bed around 8:30pm, way later than his usual 7pm.
Yesterday we had him take a nap at home in the morning since he woke up at 5:30am - here he slept from 8:15am to 10am. Thank gosh b/c he slept about 45 mins at daycare. Today we sent him over a little earlier than usual and the plan is to pick him up earlier than usual - we don't want him to start thinking he never has to sleep at daycare. Since he was up from 12:30am - 3am this morning, we're hoping he'll sleep a bit over there. We'll see!

Cam and the puffs

Everyone once in a while, when Cam gets home from daycare, he's ravenous. Today was one of those days. He sat in daddy's lap and proceeded to eat *a lot* of puffs (ugh - not organic). He had a blast, though. Totally figured out how to get the top off, put his hand into the container and pull out a bunch of puffs that he would then stuff into his mouth and finally closing the container. And then doing it all over again :)
Crazy daycare girls!
Now that Cam's hair has grown out a bit from his scalping back in July, the girls at daycare like to give Cam a mohawk at least twice a week. He's still adorable so its okey dokey with us!
He's also getting good at keeping George close by (in his mouth) while his hands are used for exploring all the stuff in the house. All his toys are gathering dust as he checks out empty boxes, stuff on mommy's desk, pots and pans under the stove, and anything else he can get open :)

Ear tube surgery postponed
Just a quick note to let everyone know the ear tube surgery has been postponed to September 30. The ENT doc wanted Cam to be healthy and virus-free since this is elective surgery (yeah, right, only if he not in daycare for the next two weeks!!!) We have asked for the surgery to be sooner, as Cam seems to be getting ear infections every 5-7 weeks and that will put him right about getting another one, but they seem pretty firm on 9/30.
Cam is feeling much better than Tuesday and at daycare today for the first time since Monday. Fingers crossed he can get rid of this herpangina virus and get healthy so we can get his ears fixed!
ps
Cam had a GREAT day at daycare today; he slept 2hrs 20 mins total - way more than his usual 1hr 15-30 mins! We did give him a dose of Tylenol in his lunchtime bottle though, b/c of his sore throat....that might be why he slept so well. Eh, so what, he had a good day over there - yay!!

Ding-dong fever update
Cam's fever is finally gone; it WAS a pretty long night. We just got back from Cam's "Well Baby" check (ha!), and Cam has herpangina, a viral throat infection. Doc thinks he's at the beginning of it, and it should run its course within 5-7 days. He's sleeping peacefully right now for his lunchtime nap.
The ENT still wants to do the pre-op tomorrow and decide then on the Friday surgery for the tubes. Because of the fever yesterday, Cam's not allowed back to daycare until he's 24 hrs fever-free, which would be tomorrow. We'll probably keep him home since he sleeps so much better here and daycare is obviously just a damn germ-fest....ANOTHER sickness he has gotten from there (argh!!). If the ENT decides tomorrow to do the surgery Friday, we'll probably keep Cam home from daycare the rest of the week; we think he'll recouperate faster at home.

I'll add the percentages later - we forgot that paperwork at the doc's office.

The Ding-dong has a fever
I got a call from daycare today about 4:15pm, telling me Cam had a fever of 100.6°. Not horrible but he definitely was warm and not himself. He's sleeping comfortably now, due for another dose of Tylenol around 9pm and we're getting ourselves together for a long night.
Ironically tomorrow morning at 10am we have Cam's one year "Well Baby" check up (snort). Not sure he'll end up getting his shots, or if this will affect the tube surgery he's supposed to have on Friday but we'll let you know.

Stomach flu
Happy Friday, folks. Cam has been down for the count since about 2pm yesterday with a bout of what we *think* is stomach flu (at least one other kid from daycare, possible three, went home sick the day before - no one told us!). Poor kid was barfing and dry heaving until about 6:30pm, then finally fell asleep for a few hours. We spent from 10pm to 1am trying to get (and keep!) some Pedialyte in him, starting with a teaspoon every 5 mins and working our way up to 2 oz every 15 mins. Cam was thirsty and hungry at 10pm - the teaspoon was NOT working for him.
Around 12:30am he started to act like himself. He slept from 1am - 7am, although we checked on him every couple of hours to make sure he was ok. So far today, he's in good spirits, although very tired. He's been getting a little formula, banana and bagels, and will go down for his lunch nap shortly. Doc say there could be some diarrhea next, so we're keeping an eye out - that will probably be hard to miss!
All I will say is freakin' daycare....

Call me Spike

For some reason today in daycare Cam's hair got wet, so one of his teacher's spiked it - and it stayed that way! I cracked up when I picked him up; my own little punk rocker.
Might be time for a haircut :)

Best Easter basket EVER
The girls over at daycare asked for all the kids to come dressed in pastels (and Cam has one pastel outfit. He's a BOY, for cryin' out loud!) and they were going to take pictures for the rooms for spring. We should know by now that it also means they are going to do something nice for the parents :) We got an Easter card from Cam on Monday when he went to daycare for the first time in almost a week - isn't he cute?! (yep, not biased at all :) )

Trio of sickees continued - Cam's 6 month checkup
Cam had his 6 month checkup today - weight is 20.5 lbs, length is 28.25" and his head is 18.5" around. Still in the 98th percentile except for his weight (88th), but we (us and the Dr.) suspect the ear infection Dr. Nave found in Cam's left ear today for the slight weight gain. Turns out all the rolling around he was doing before his naps was b/c he was so uncomfortable, not b/c he was trying to stay awake, as we thought :(
Dr. N said that it was better to have let the cold he's had run its course instead of rushing him in to see her sooner as the ear infection wouldn't have developed yet to be caught. She said she's missed ear infections in her own kids as they can be hard to diagnose (very small consolation). Cam was a champ today, and did pretty well with the ear check until the last few moments, when it probably hurt that she was poking around in there. He's going on antibiotics and ear drops, and his 6 month shots are rescheduled for April 1. He's still in good spirits, so this bug didn't knock him down :) Frickin' daycare....its a blessing and a curse!
Wash your hands and stay healthy! We love ya!

Daycare Day 5
Despite not eating and barely sleeping at daycare yesterday, Cam did fantastically sleeping last night; from 10:30pm to 5:45am. We weren't able to get him back to sleep at 5:45am, but we're both pretty pysched at the 7.25hrs of sleep that we both got! Hopefully this trend will continue :)
Update: today Cam ate 4oz of formula at daycare! They were so excited they called us but I was resting on the couch (Cam's cold has migrated to me) and Kevin was working. We were both very proud and relieved he finally ate there! Of course, after several days of him NOT eating, we only sent 4oz with him, figuring we'd feed him the typical 8oz when he got home that day...doh!

Mad Dog's newest model
Cam's modeling an MDD wearable for Winter 2008/2009 :)
ps
Daycare still sucks; only 2 half hour naps (instead of a 2hr nap) and a half ounce of formula. He gets home tired and hungry, but remarkably NOT cranky - go figure!
The Caminator has a cold
The daycare strikes its first blow; Cam has his first cold. Poor little guy is pretty congested, but no fever. Those bulb things are hard to use when the bulbee is trying to grab it constantly! It also doesn't help that his routine is totally messed up b/c he's not eating or sleeping at daycare :(
After much talking this morning, we decided to have Cam go spend a half day there in the hopes that he'll continue to get used to it, perhaps even eat a little while there, then I'll go get him and have him take a good nap when he gets home. If he's feeling ok this afternoon I'll get the camera out; we got a cute new stuffed doggie that he likes to wrestle with. Its pretty funny but he is a funny kid!! (not biased at ALL :) )

Daycare: Day 2
Cam survived another day at daycare. He totally skipped his lunchtime nap, and fell asleep at 2:45 for 25 mins, waking up when I was putting him into his carseat. He also refused to eat while there but he inhaled 4 oz of formula when we got home. Right now he's coming unglued with Kevin due to being super-duper overtired, and hopefully we'll get him down for a nap sometime very soon here. Poor little guy, this is going to take some getting used to for him (and us!!)

First day at STARS Daycare
Cam is home from his first day at daycare. Well, first half day :) The drop-off went ok, well, no hysterical weeping from mommy at least. Well, not in front of anyone!
He's pretty tuckered out - he woke up at 5:30am this morning and only took a 45 minute nap at 8:30am, then did only a 30 minute nap instead of his usual 2 hours at lunchtime! Just a bit (!!!) off his routine, but after a long late afternoon nap, he's doing well so far tonight. We're going to give him a bath and hang out for a little while. We both missed the little guy today! Photos tomorrow :)
