Taking time to smell the flowers

Grammie and Grampie sent some gorgeous flowers to celebrate a milestone birthday today, so Cam has seen mommy and daddy smelling them. He tries to smell them, but ends up blowing on them like they are too hot to eat :)

Drive-by with Cheeze

Another parental indulgence - for a while, I've been thinking that Cam would enjoy one of the little kid lawnmowers that makes bubbles as you push it. At least, I (we) knew I'd (we'd) get a kick of watching him play with it. One somehow made it into my shopping cart at Target today, and viola! Instant happy kid with new toy!

This is a bit of video of him playing with it in the house; turns out, you have to push the thing *fast* in order to get the bubbles to come out, and Cam has needed a bit of time with it indoors to figure out manuevering it so it works in outside. As he passes Kevin with the video camera, Cam looks right up at the camera with the cheesiest grin :) It then gets really dark as K follows Cam into the kitchen where he crashes into the cupboards by the stove - no one was hurt :) Enjoy!

We got this cute photo of Cam while Grams was over for dinner tonight - he totally looks like he's up to no good. We should get used to seeing this face :)

Caught!

....not doing anything bad, just surprised by the camera. Ever since we got the new camera, Cam is determined to not look at it, so he was caught off gaurd by Daddy when he was playing in his room this morning (C had gotten really quiet, which is usually reason for concern).

Is there something on my face?

Cam's first dinner out

More fun with mommy's $10 sunglasses while our OUR FIRST DINNER OUT AS A FAMILY since Cam joined us last year. He did great in the restaurant and we all had a blast. Should have tried this sooner!!

The Caminator was at the beach in Cayoucos with mommy, daddy and Grammie and Grampie today. Gorgeous cool weather (much to Grammie and Grampie's relief after triple digits in Paso) with sunshine, swings and sea gulls - awesome!

Oh, the things Cam can get into now!

After lunch today, K was cleaning up in the kitchen while Cam was playing in the family room. K put a few things in the fridge, and heard Cam complaining. When K turned around, he found Cam had crawled into one of the drawers on the entertainment center but couldn't figure out how to get back out!

After he was done laughing (and snapping a few photos), K helped Cam out :)

Call me Spike

For some reason today in daycare Cam's hair got wet, so one of his teacher's spiked it - and it stayed that way! I cracked up when I picked him up; my own little punk rocker.

Might be time for a haircut :)

Visit from Grandpa and Grandma Janice

Grandpa and Grandma Janice visited from SoCal today. Since Cam has decided to despise his car seat, we haven't tried to make the trip down since before Christmas. It was great to see them! We had some fun taking photos. Especially Cam, who is doing his best "Zoolander - Blue Steel" impression here :)

Better than a playpen :)

How this happened: Cam spied the laundry basket while mommy was folding laundry and daddy was playing with Cam in the living room. Daddy put him in it and voila!...new favourite place to hang out. Its not as bad as it seems; super portable and nothing sharp to hurt the Ding Dong. :) Plus you can carry laundry at the same time.

His sitting up skills have progressed remarkably this week...well, to us, anyway!

Daddy got some great shots of Cam this morning in his jumping gym, from impishly happy (see left), to cranky b/c he couldn't get the toys on the gym in his mouth b/c they were attached, to just goofy (see below).

Happy New Year :)

Happy New Year to everyone! We had a very low-key evening last night; unfortunately Kevin started feeling blechy at lunchtime and got progressively worse as the afternoon and night wore on. Just a bit of the flu, so he took it easy today and Cam and I had a "Mommy and Me" day.

Cam was in rare form, though; he refused to go down for his morning nap around 9am, and by 10:30, after being up for 3.25 hrs, was heading into meltdown territory. He fell asleep when I fed him at 10:45am and then proceeded to sleep until 2pm! He woke up quite happy at 2pm, and we had a fun 2 hours, until he started to get sleepy again around 4pm and again refused to go down for a nap, so by bathtime at 5:30, he was pretty cranky. He fell asleep while eating after his bath, so we'll see how long he's down for this evening. This is pretty odd that he won't go down for a nap and I hope its not a trend we'll be following in the New Year!
